Business Promotional Products That Won’t Break the Bank

November 21st, 2016

One of the most inaccurate, not to say bizarre, myths about promotional merchandise is the strange belief that they must be expensive. It’d be pretty difficult to get much further from the truth. The fact is that promotional products need to be priced well, to be effective. They have to be cost-effective, viable options for promotion.

All aspects of promotional advertising, including the ideas and the materials needed to bring them about, are structured into professional marketing plans. A good promotion is fully costed before it starts. The real key to success is a good supplier who can work with your budget and understands the needs of your promotion.

Corporate items

Corporate promotional items are one of the best illustrations of the economics of promotional products as corporate budgets are very cost sensitive. A corporate budget is costed to the dollar, and included in the financial system and audit trail. Corporate promotions demand cost effectiveness, because big budgets need to achieve results.

There are potential overheads, too. Merchandising, storage, and warehousing are all possible major costs to the promotional budget. Top suppliers actually provide warehousing for promotional products and other savings across the board, which greatly improves the position for budget purposes.

Business items

For small to middle businesses, costs and overheads of promotions are potentially serious issues. The related budgets are smaller and have to be viable. Promotions are a critical part of expanding any business, and the items used need to have a high impact at workable costs.

The solution is targeted promotional products on a reliable upfront cost basis, with a defined dollar value. Suppliers can provide sufficient quantities of products at low prices, ensuring the budget is stable.

Brand promotions

The professional approach to promotional products for brands is a good illustration of budget control. Marketers, who are if anything more cost, quality and value conscious than their clients, need to pin down the dollar values of brand promotions well in advance and get those costs approved.

In this case, cost-effectiveness is achieved by consultation with suppliers. This is a very efficient way of dealing with all aspects of promotion costs, special needs for merchandise, and other potentially expensive issues. Suppliers can provide a fully costed package for all the promotional items and related services.

Event promotions

If you’ve seen all the very conspicuous high profile promotional items for major events like sports events, the main products are usually budgeted the year before they happen. Budget blowouts are definitely not an option.

The solution is a fully costed run of promotional products for the event. Costing is arranged through consultation, and there are no grey areas on the budget. The promoter will have a dollar figure to work with, and a defined quantity of products for the event.

Whatever industry you’re in, talk to a supplier of promotional merchandise. You’ll get hard facts, solid dollar figures, meaningful advice and options if you need them.

5 Reasons Why Fortune 500 Companies Buy Eco-Friendly Promotional Products

November 21st, 2016

Want to know why Fortune 500 companies purchase eco-friendly promotional products?

Here are 5 reasons why the titans of business rely on eco-friendly promotional items to further their brand.

The numbers don’t lie.

At the end of the day, nothing matters more than the bottom line. It’s how we measure productivity - and ultimately how we measure our worth. Without an active advertising campaign, how will people know who you are and what you are selling?

If you wanted to get the word out about your business, you might take out a newspaper ad or purchase a radio slot. But according to the cost-per-impression data (numbers that evaluate your ROI), that would be the wrong move.

Did you know out of all the advertising mediums available, promotional items win hands down time and time again? Why is that?

Simply put, promotional products have staying power. Eco-friendly promotional products such as tote bags and wearables can create untold amounts of repeated exposure for your brand. That radio ad comes and goes in 15 seconds, while your newspaper ad camps out in the recycling bin.

When it comes to choosing the right eco-friendly promotional items for your next campaign, truly consider the utility of the item you are purchasing. Will it be relevant a year or two down the road? Does it retain shelf life in the mind of the recipient? Ask yourself these - and other - important questions. The answers are very revealing.

Understand the cycle of human nature.

Nothing tells your customers you are environmentally responsible than associating your brand with eco-friendly promotional products. Numerous studies conducted by the PPAI (Promotional Products International Association) and other independent third-parties have revealed customers entertain a high rate of recall (roughly two-thirds of people surveyed) with specific advertisers who actively promote with eco-friendly gifts. Repeated brand exposure forges a lasting impression. Reinforcement is a time-honored learning tool for animals - and humans are no exception.

Reduce your carbon footprint now

Eco-friendly promotional items can greatly reduce the carbon footprint your business leaves behind every workday. Everything from organic and biodegradable fabrics to biodegradable corn plastic to buttons that prevent computers from wasting kilowatts all help reduce your carbon footprint. Encourage your employees to spread the word by having them pass out eco-friendly giveaways to their family and friends. Choose recycled stock or seeded paper next time you have a large direct mail piece going out. It begins with an initiative and grows from there.

Don’t ignore your competitor’s moves

If you think green promotional products are a passing fad think again. A number of Fortune 500 companies have relied on green promotional items to further their brand’s image, so surely if big corporations with staying power are utilizing them why aren’t you? Case study after case study is being published by businesses that have noticed sustained growth and increased revenues simply by branding with green promotional products. Implement a strategy and move forward. Goodwill is contagious.

Knowledge is power

Do your research. Look at the different promotional items Fortune 500 companies use to further their brand. Know what makes a fabric organic or what the FTC classifies as acceptable “Green” marketing claims before you jump in and put your logo on the first eco-friendly promotional product you see. Choose items that align with your product or service. Attach a small recycled tag to your promo item that highlights ways your customers can save money by becoming more environmentally conscious. This valuable information might just make it on your customer’s fridge for months on end.

10 Tips For Promoting Your Business With Eco-friendly Promotional Products

November 21st, 2016

Eco-friendly promotional products are a powerful marketing tool to promote your business. In fact, recent studies on eco-friendly promotional products have revealed that companies committed to green sustainability practices have showed greater performance over their competition.

10 tips for promoting your business with eco-friendly promotional products

  1. Offer a free gift. A biodegradable pen made from corn plastic can be given to anyone from a prospect at trade show or a conference to a potential customer or loyal account holder. Make sure this eco-friendly pen has your company contact information imprinted on it. Above all else, think utility. The free gift can be anything from a solar-powered calculator to a biodegradable mug. You do not have to use an expensive item to make a lasting impact.
  2. Say ‘thank you’. Has a customer registered for your free online newsletter or told you how much actionable information your blog provides? Show them how much you value their business with a 100% post-consumer recycled ‘thank you’ card. On the back, list helpful money and time saving tips like going paperless with electronic invoices. A nice gesture cleverly combined with useful information will position your business above the competition when your particular service or product is needed again.
  3. Network with purpose. Everyone knows that trade shows, conventions and conferences are great venues to network. Don’t just hand over a business card or catalog to your prospects. Make an impression with eco-friendly promotional products. After introducing yourself, hand over a seeded business card. Tell your new contact how a seeded business card can be planted in the ground and sprout vegetables or wildflowers within days. A green business card is a great conversation starter and can lead to a spontaneous sale. Hand out free eco-friendly promotional products to anyone who signs up for your free online newsletter at your booth.
  4. Send organic cookies. One of the most time-tested marketing tactics is to send cookies to select customers and prospects you are interested in courting. Organic cookies (think carob chip) are a forward-thinking gesture on many levels. Send a note on post-consumer recycled paper thanking the prospect for their time and offer her to spread the joy to other members of the marketing team or upper management.
  5. Everyone loves incentives. Did a customer just purchase a big ticket item, meet a certain quantity or participate in an online survey? Reward your customers who consistently purchase from you with an incentive to buy again. Think of eco-friendly promotional products that will be used daily, such as an ‘Ecobutton’, which keeps your computer from wasting kilowatts.
  6. Get everyone involved. Say you are having your yearly company picnic and employees bring their family and friends. Organize a game of friendly flag football. Teams are separated according to T-shirt color. Of course, you brought along some eco-friendly T-shirts for all players to take home with them.
  7. Remember important occasions. Who isn’t impressed when you remember their birthday or anniversary? Green birthday cards attached to an eco-friendly gift can go a long way in further securing customers over the long run.
  8. Start a redeemable points program. Entice your customers to purchase enough of a particular product and in return allow them to redeem those points for free eco-friendly promotional items. These redeemable programs allow you to widen your profit margin by moving dated or unpopular products and by pushing more of your best-sellers as well. For lower point totals you can give away a 100% post-consumer recycled notepad; higher point totals can qualify for a recycled laptop carrying case.
  9. Reward top sales reps. Reward your top-performing sales reps with eco-friendly promotional products that offer high impression rates. Sometimes reinforcement can do wonders for someone’s self-esteem - and actually make them work harder. An organic cotton or hemp dress shirt with your embroidered company logo will do just fine.
  10. Holidays are your wildcard. Holidays are the best time of the year to use eco-friendly promotional products to promote your brand. Recyclable calendars and green Christmas tree ornaments are examples of highly relevant, eco-friendly promotional products.

When it comes to promoting your business, eco-friendly promotional products can become a valuable marketing tool that drives results.

Promotional Products - The Perfect Advertising Tools

November 14th, 2016

The pulse of your business lies in customer equity. The more loyal your customers are to your business the higher is the ‘customer equity.’ What does it take to develop and forge a strong relationship with your customers? A top-quality product or service and effective marketing strategies-these are what drive existing and potential customers back to your brand over and over again.

Building Brand Awareness

This is key and promotional products are the most effective relationship drivers yet known. Customized promotional items remind your customers of your brand so that when they need your product or service your brand is the first that comes to their minds rather than your competitors’.

The Cost Of Advertising With Promotional Products

Adding promotional items to your marketing mix does not cost the earth either! Compared to television and print media, not only does advertising with promotional products cost a fraction of the price, but gives longevity to it as well. Custom promo products generate more impressions per item as compared to television ads. Promotional bags generate the highest number of impressions at 1,078 impressions per bag and due to this the average cost-per-impression of a promotional product is 0.005 cents in the US.

Promotional products are available online for as low as under $1 or $2, so businesses can now easily stay within their marketing budget.

Attract & Retain New Customers

Custom promotional items such as promotional bottles, promotional bags and totes, and promotional pens are the bestsellers simply because they are highly useful items. Since they are more likely to be used by recipients rather than being stashed away in a drawer, the visibility of an imprinted company logo or message is more. The more they use these giveaways, the more likely they are to come back to you for your products or services.

Choose Well-Aligned Promotional Products

If you are a medical practitioner, giving away golf items will not work! However, promotional pens, promotional drinkware or even key chains could work well to keep your message on their minds.

There is a host of promotional giveaways available to businesses for their promotional campaigns-all online! From stationery items like promotional notebooks, memo pads, day planners, and sticky notes to promotional apparel like personalized t-shirts, polo shirts, and promotional aprons. The variety is endless so for every promotional event the item must be chosen as part of a well-thought out strategy-aligned with the core business interest or needs of the promotional event.

Why Promotional Products

In addition to the cost factor, promotional products have the added advantage of making their recipients feel valued. Handing out meaningful gifts with your logo on them helps customers to emotionally connect with your brand. Product launches, website launches, offers and discounts are just some opportunities to give away business gifts. Simple thank you gifts to show appreciation are also much appreciated by existing customers.

Custom Promotional items are ideal for bringing back ‘latent’ customers - those who have forgotten about a brand but have been loyal to it in the past.

Some customers turn to other brands over time. Identifying the factors that caused them to turn away and identifying their preferences will help determine how to utilize promos to win them back.

Promotional products are the most effective relationship drivers yet known. Customized promotional items remind your customers of your brand so that when they need your product or service your brand is the first that comes to their minds rather than your competitors’.

History Of Promotional Products

November 14th, 2016

The first known Promotional Product used in America were commemorative campaign buttons used by George Washington during the Presidential campaign in 1789. In the early 1800’s calendars and rulers as well as some wooden items used for advertising, although an organized industry for creation and distribution did not yet exist until the late 1800’s.

A commercial printer by the name of Jasper Meeks from Coshocton Ohio was the 1st seller of promotional products for the industry when he got a local store selling shoes to print their business name on book bags for local schools. Mr. Meeks local printing competitor Henry Beach followed suit and began printing and selling other items like marbles, aprons, cloth caps, card cases, calendars, and fans to businesses.

In 1904, Mr Meeks and Mr Beach along with 12 other manufacturers of promotional merchandise came together and founded the first Promotional Product Trade Association for the industry. The organization is now referred to as the P.P.A.I (Promotional Products Association International) This organization now includes over 7,500 global members. and represents an industry of more than 22,000 distributors and 4,800 manufacturers across the world.

The United Kingdom & Ireland Promotional Product Merchandise Industry officially emerged as corporate marketing became advanced during the late 1950s. Before this era a company may have handed out occasional gifts, but there still was no recognised Industry in existence. The 1st dramatic growth in the industry began in the 1970s. When an increasing number of corporate companies saw the benefits gained from promoting their Business name, brand and product or service with the use of gifts displaying their own logo. There was a limited choice In the early years of Promotion Products, then at the beginning of the 1980’s demand grew from distributors for a generic Promotional Product catalogue they could distribute to their corporate customer displaying their brand as their own.

In years to follow these catalogues could be over-branded to show a distributor’s corporate logo and then distributors could deliver them to their end-user as a product of their own. In the beginning stages these catalogues were a vital sales tool and customers would order directly from these catalogues.

Beginning in the 1990s new catalogue services became available for distributors from many sources. The Industry created ‘Catalogue Groups’ who offered a specialized catalogue to a selected geographical group of Promotional Product merchandise distributor companies. Membership of a Catalogue Group also offered improved buying term options, a group of fellow distributor companies, & offered more support services. A current example of this type of Group would be the Envoy Group, who offers discounted products to a select group of distributors who have been in the industry for a minimum of three years. These members of the Envoy Group have regional exclusivity as a perk.

Preceding the 1990s the Promotional Product Merchandise Industry had a peak season, this was around Christmas & the giving of gifts. This changed dramatically by the beginning of the 1990s when Christmas gifts became less popular in the growing multicultural Country of England. Corporate companies became more creative by using promotional product merchandise to support their brand throughout the entire year.

In the early 2000’s the role of a Promotional Product merchandise catalogues started to change, because they could no longer fully display the vast range of products being offered. By 2007 companies were mailing catalogues to targeted customer lists, instead of the blanket postal mailing list they were using before. The catalogue has become more of a ‘business card that demonstrates the concept of what a company did, instead of a critical sales tool. In 2009 results published showed research involving a representative group of distributor companies, this indicated the usage of real hard copy catalogues would fall up to 25% by the end of 2010.

Distributor companies are experts in finding a way to source their creative Promotional Products. Traditionally, to make sure that they offered an effective manufacturer network, theses companies kept themselves updated on the trade product ranges available by attending exhibitions held all over the world, the (Trade Only National Show in the United Kingdom, Product Stewardship Institute or (PSI) in Europe and the P.P.A.I Show in Las Vegas, NV) & from the mailings the manufacturers received themselves. In 2004 Promotional Product sourcing began to change due to the launch of online trade sourcing services that became available and united distributors with manufacturers all over the world. This service is completely for vetted trade promotional merchandise distributor companies & is not offered to corporate end-user companies.

By 2008 just about every distributor incorporated a website demonstrating a range of items available. Not many offered the ability to order online mainly due to the complexities surrounding the processes to brand the merchandise needed. Today there are several companies that offer home based business opportunities to sell Promos. This allows the big distributor companies the ability to bring in more orders without having to advertise themselves. Smaller business can compete in the industry since all they need to do is advertise, find orders, and place orders, not having to worry about overhead costs. The fulfillment centers collect the artwork, print the orders and handle delivery.

Promotional Products Startup Guide For New Companies

November 10th, 2016

If you have either bought or are starting a new business from the ground up, one of your most immediate needs is to establish your brand in the market place as soon as possible. Certainly one of the best and most cost effective ways to accomplish this is with the help of promotional products. However, I am not writing this article to convince you of the importance of using promotional products but rather to help you with the process of implementing this type of marketing approach. In this article, I will be discussing a kind of mental checklist that will be necessary to help make this process go much more smoothly for you. Keep in mind that I will be providing you a general rather than a comprehensive guide to the ordering process as with more than 850,000 promotional products and growing in our industry I could not in this small article cover all the necessary guidelines for ordering each product. Nevertheless, I will address some of the key considerations that will help you in the selection and ordering process for most promotional products.

One of the first areas in this process you must address is to come up with a budget. Your thinking here should be first to come up with a total budget and then to break that total budget into segments which should include a price range for each promotional product you want to order. Don’t forget to compensate for costs other than the actual product in your budget such as shipping, taxes, and any fulfillment costs that might be incurred in delivering or packaging the promotional item. As part of this budgetary process you will want to decide on how many different types of promotional items you will want to purchase. Once you have decided on how many promotional products you will be using in your marketing effort, you will need to figure out how many of each individual item you will want to order. This really then becomes more of a mathematical function of how many promotional items you will be ordering and how much you have budgeted for the entire promotional product program.

With the financial aspect of the promotional product program figured out your thought process should move to the marketing aspects so you can then zero in on the precise products that will accomplish your branding mission. This is where you need to begin to ask yourself some important questions. It is through the questioning process that you will define your entire approach to getting the appropriate and most effective promotional product and still stay within your budget. Questions such as: who will you be targeting with these promotional products? What is the message and impression you want the product to convey to the person receiving it? Where will the promotional product be given out? Although I can think of many more questions that I as a professional would ask to better define your goals lets limit it to these three very important questions for now. Let’s briefly discuss the first question: who will the products be given to? Actually this question can best be answered by asking and answering a series of other questions like: will the products be given to current customers or prospects? Will the products be given to men, women or children? What position does the recipient hold in an organization? These are just a few questions you will need to ask yourself in defining your target and thus determining an appropriate and effective promotional product. With regards to the second major question I presented concerning the message and impression you want to convey to your customer, you will need to examine why you are giving the promotional product out in the first place. Do you want to give the promotional product out to create awareness of a new product or service your company is introducing? Perhaps, you want to use it to directly boost sales and give it as a gift with purchase which we call a premium in the industry. There are many ways to help your business grow with the help of promotional products, in fact, to many to mention here in this article. But the way to find out how you can best use them is by questioning and understanding your own company’s needs. Finally, the last major question involves the logistics and the distribution of the promotional products. For example, where will the promotional products be given out? Will your sales people be giving out the promotional product during sales calls or maybe at a tradeshow? Maybe your company will be hosting a seminar and hand some products out there. Still another possibility would involve mailing out products to customers such as gifts acknowledging their support and creating good will and loyalty to your company and brand. However you choose to get the product to your marketing target distribution and logistics should be an important consideration in your decision to purchase certain promotional products.

Having touched on the marketing aspect of choosing to promote your brand with promotional products, it is now time to turn your attention to what essentially is the nuts and bolts part of the actual ordering process. This part of your marketing efforts involves specific choices that you will have to make regarding each product most of which have their own unique characteristics. Once you actually decide on a promotional product, things like size, color, specific features, and options available for that product should be thought out. You will then need to decide how you want to customize the product. Things like the number of ink colors you will want to imprint on an item, how many sides on a product will be imprinted and in the case of an embroidered product the size and location of the embroidery will come into play. Finally, you will need to make sure that you have your artwork done by a graphics professional who can put it in the proper format to submit for actual production. Although there are many products and possibilities for the creative and effective use of promotional products, with a little thought on your part the basic guidelines I have outlined in this article will provide you with a good starting agenda. Of course, a top professional promotional product supplier with extensive experience and the technology necessary can help and fill in the important missing gaps and take you the rest of the way to successfully completing your marketing mission.

Super Promotional Products - The Multiplier Effect

November 8th, 2016

Many products today whether they be promotional or otherwise are very ordinary, run of the mill, and plain average in terms of both their benefits and overall performance. But then there are those special ones that continue to rise above the rest and consistently outperform all of the other competitors. These products are what some in our pop culture would call: the super stars. Well the same is true to some extent with promotional products. Yes, this may come as news to some but all promotional products are not created equal. In fact, there are some promotional products that have super star attributes that simply blow the rest away. These super promotional products are not all in the same category but the main attribute that they all have is what I call the ” multiplier effect”.

Well you ask what the heck is the multiplier effect? Simply put it is the ability of that promotional product to keep on promoting to keep on giving off advertising impressions to more people than just the recipient. No matter what your promotion is you should first consider these super promotional products before all others. Why? Because these are the most powerful promoters out there. These products not only are promoting directly to the recipient ,your customers, but as an added kick they actually become unknowingly enlisted soldiers in your promotional army carrying the message of your brand to others. Imagine not only are you promoting your brand to your customers but they are actually helping you promote the brand as well.

Now an average promotional product can’t possibly hope to accomplish this. Most promotional products are either consumed like food products or are simply designed to promote to the recipient and have no affect beyond that. That is not to say that those products do not have an important purpose and can be a valuable tool in promoting your business. But before you settle for a one dimensional marketing tool you should first explore whether it is possible to use a super promotional product for your promotion. Because, when it comes to the best bang for the marketing buck the super promotional products has no equal.

Well enough with the generalities Marc, what are these marvels of marketing you call super promotional products? Actually many of them will be familiar to you but their residual powers to keep promoting are often undervalued and underrated in promotions because the company promoting their brand does not have an understanding of the multiplier effect and how it can super charge a promotion. For example, I was working with a new client a while back who happened to have a great opportunity to promote his brand at a major university’s sporting event. He had to, however, stay within certain parameters set up by the university. Two of these limitations set up by the school were that the promotional product that my client gave out at the games could not be something hard and they were not allowed to use the schools logo.

My client was leaning towards some kind of stress ball until I presented him with a custom made we are #1 foam hand mitt that I am sure that most people have seen at college football games. With the quantities he needed we were able to get the foam material that the mitt was made of customized in the university’s colors. So what we created was a super promotional product. Why? Because the thirty thousand fans that the mitts were given to had the schools name along with my clients logo on it and they held them up for the other 50,000 fans to see every time their team made a good play. My client not only was able to join his brand with that of the university’s in a joint marketing venture but had also enlisted an army of fans waving his logo to show the other thousand of fans his brand as well. Moreover many of the fans kept the we are # 1 mitts and brought them to other games only to show more people my clients brand and so the beat goes on and on. Now that is an example of a super promotional product.

But there are many examples of these super promotional products with the multiplier effect. Being aware of this marketing concept is the key. For example, why give out pens at a trade show when you can give out tote bags with your company’s logo and have all the recipients walk around the trade show promoting your brand and driving traffic to your booth location. As I wrote in one of my previous articles about promotional product desk accessory items, many of them are super promotional products as they sit on your clients desk often viewed by important people visiting that individual in their office. Perhaps an important supplier to that company will see the promotional product gift with your logo on it on your clients desk.

It might cause them to notice your company’s logo and introduce or elevate your brand in the mind of the viewer. The promotional apparel products like t-shirts and hats are some of the more obvious and popular super promotional products because they enlist the recipients who wear them to promote that company’s brand. But there are many other examples of super promotional products to choose from that will work for you and your company’s promotion. The main thing is to be aware that you want one of these super stars for your next promotion and ask a creative professional promotional product supplier to find the one that will give it that big “multiplier effect”.

Promotional Products That Act Like Billboards to Promote Your Business

November 5th, 2016

Looking to get a great return on your marketing investment? In good times or bad it is always wise to seek those marketing tools that will give you more for your marketing dollar. When it comes to promotional giveaways getting the best return on your marketing investment means finding products that will give you more ad impressions for your marketing dollar. To find these kinds of promotional products you will first need to understand what characteristics to look for in a product while developing your promotional idea. I like to view these kind of promotional products as billboards because they not only promote your brand and products or services to the recipients but also promote and advertise to others who read your company’s message on the promotional product.

With this understanding in mind you should adjust your thinking when budgeting for a promotional product. Make sure your focus remains on investment return and not just on price or quantity. You will get more from a promotion choosing a promotional product billboard, as I call them, even if it means scaling down the number of promotional items you purchase. This approach is superior to using a one dimensional product like say bottled water with a custom label which will only be seen by the recipient as once it is consumed it won’t be giving off any ad impressions unless of course the garbage man sees the bottle. I know I gave you an extreme example but I did this to illustrate to you the importance of seeking out these promotional product billboards.

There are many types of promotional products that I would classify as billboards. Some of the important categories I would include are: customized umbrellas, custom screen printed or embroidered apparel, yard signs, banners, customized bags, bumper stickers, inflatable products, and custom imprinted car shades to name just a few. Certainly at the top of this list would be products like custom screen printed apparel like t-shirts and embroidered hats which are everywhere in our society with people walking around advertising one brand or another acting as human billboards promoting all kinds of businesses and organizations. People love to get these products as they seem more than happy to promote your business in exchange for a casual article of clothing that they can use. This kind of practical promotional gift along with things like umbrellas are especially effective during bad economic times when these products actually help out the recipient in a small way by giving them something they can use on a regular basis in their lives. Bags are great billboards for promoting your business.

There are many products and applications that you can promote your business with using bags: from retail shopping bags to tote bags to backpacks and gym bags. There are custom promotional bags for virtually every kind of business and budget. The great part about this kind of advertising and brand promotion is that the recipient carries your promotional message around for everyone to see. You simply can’t beat that in any promotion getting unpaid helpers to promote your business. It is so good it almost sounds illegal. Some of the more classic types of billboard promotional products actually resemble smaller versions of the real thing like: signs, yard signs, and banners. These are relatively inexpensive means of advertising and promoting your business and even though they don’t come complete with a recipient to carry them around with like the bag category they are very effective in that one product can be viewed by many potential customers in much the way a billboard works. Inflatable products work in a similar way bringing attention and often traffic to a business. For those of you unfamiliar with the term inflatable products these are large balloons you often see on the roofs and out front of retail stores designed to get consumers attention as they drive by in their cars.

One often overlooked billboard promotional product is the car sunshade that people down south in particular utilize everyday when parking their car to keep the searing heat and sunshine from their car interiors. This is a great promotional tool that is in my opinion under utilized. It provides a large imprint area and can be viewed by many people who pass by the parked car it is displayed in throughout the year. Again this is one of those products with the recipient providing the free labor to set up the shade and drive it to locations all around town promoting your business every time they park their car. Moreover, people love this as a promotional gift and will use it for years to come. Whatever product you choose to do for your next promotion make sure to try incorporate one of these promotional product billboards into your campaign and reap the benefits from some of the best return on your marketing dollar to be found anywhere.

Promotional Items For a Comfortable Workplace

November 3rd, 2016

The average employee spends at least 45 hours in his workstation. The office is basically his second home, a second life. One of the basic things the company can provide is a wholistic and comfortable workplace that allows him to fulfill the requirements of his job and still strike a balance between outside life and work. Here are some ideas for promotional items you can integrate in your employee motivation programs:

Ensure that work stations are ergonomic. Easily, one of the major reasons for absenteeism is work-related injuries. Supply your employees with promotional items such as wrist pads, filters for their computer monitors, ergonomic keyboards, and back pillows.
Educate your employees on proper posture at their desks so they do not get back or neck injuries.

Get the entire team together to start the week right. Monday is the best time to plan what happens during the week and to update one another on what’s on the other’s plate. Promotional items such as drinkware allow you to relax and talk-the best conversations happen over a steaming hot cup of coffee. The weekly meeting is also a good time to bond. People work best when the atmosphere is friendly, but do not force friendship. It will come naturally.

Make sure they have all the promotional office items they need within reach. Integrate promotional items into your welcome package, including logo-bearing notepads, ballpoint pens, lanyards, sticky notes, and a mug.

Allow them to take a break every once in a while. The short time off-whether for coffee or cigarettes-makes employees recharge, so allow them to take breaks but encourage them to do so responsibly. Promotional items like timers and jigsaw puzzle are suitable gifts.

Promotional stress-relieving items make great giveaways when the going gets tough. Custom stress balls come in pill, soccer, basketball, hand and other shapes and in bright, attractive colors. Promotional food items such as peanuts and candies are good chewables while working.

Encourage them to loosen up with humorous giveaways. They say laughter is the best medicine. Give them weepuls or cute little stuffed animals to lighten up an otherwise anemic workstation. These promotional items will surely make anyone smile.

Allow them to feel at home in the workplace. Let them personalize their desks with promotional desktop items such as digital or regular photo frames that display pictures of their family. it’s a great reminder of why they’re working hard or what they’re saving up for.

Encourage employees to engage in socio-civic activities. This enforces your company’s values and inspires your workers to do a little good every day. Help build a house for the poor. Organize a soup kitchen. Visit an orphanage over a weekend. Be ready with promotional apparel in company colors. These items are great ways to build teamwork.

Give praise freely. Nothing encourages employees more than knowing they are appreciated. Compliment them for a job well done. Logo-imprinted trophies, plaques, and medals are promotional items that will come in handy in your company’s recognition and awards program.

End-of-the-year events are also good opportunities to reward employees. Special promotional items like a personalized Parker pen or maybe a silver-plated paperweight are perfect giveaways for the occasion.

Give them some time off if they truly deserve it. For example, if your team members have been working double time to complete a project, allow them an extra workday or two off so they can come back recharged. Send them spa essentials, maybe a manicure or pedicure set, or other promotional items that will allow them to relax.
