Michigan State University Uses Promotional Products to Aid Attendance

Thursday, August 30th, 2012

“I wanted to get free stuff.” - A Quote from a MSU Student Regarding Promotional Items While Attending a University Festival for Local Businesses and College Students

Michigan State University knows how influential promotional products are.  Each year, the university holds it annual “U-Fest’ which brings students and local businesses together through none other than promotional items.

When asked why she attended, one MSU student simply replied, “I wanted to get free stuff.”

What a powerful statement if you’re a company looking to expand your presence beyond your traditional advertising.

The university has hosted this festival for 32 years and its popularity allows it to continue each year because of that “free stuff.”

In previous blog posts, we’ve touched on how savvy companies are making sure to target their promotional marketing campaigns towards the impressionable college student.  College is around the time when young adults begin to recognize their own voice and step outside of their parent’s thought process in terms of buying and consumption.

A free promotional tote bag, or promotional calendar, and of course, promotional pens and pencils, are widely used by college students who are on modest budgets and can’t afford book store pricing for most of these items.  A company logo is not going to deter a college student from using a useful item in their every day life.  And it’s only going to create a memorable impression when it comes time to consume.

If you’re an up-and-coming company and you want to make the most of your first promotional products campaign, start with your local colleges and universities.  Superior Promos can help you build the perfect promotional products campaign to be used on college campuses across the nation.

The Top Promotional Products for Campaign Season That You Must Use

Tuesday, August 28th, 2012

During campaign season, it’s important to utilize the power of promotional products to the fullest extent.  Bringing awareness during this time of year is critical in order to see that your candidate, proposition or cause is voted for, passed or elected.  Distributing a promotional product to voters who normally who wouldn’t be aware of such candidates or issues has long been one of the most influential methods of campaign marketing.

With campaign season upon us, we spoke with a customer of ours who is currently managing a campaign in the state of California and orders promotional products for his campaign needs every campaign season.  Below are his most recommended suggestions for campaign season promotional products:

Promotional Bumper Stickers

With the majority of Americans commuting to work, promotional bumper stickers are notorious during campaign season since many of us sit in traffic and spend our time staring into traffic while reading vanity license plates, license plate holders, and of course, bumper stickers.

Promotional Yard Signs

Across cities and towns, even in frontyards, promotional yard signs are commonplace during campaign season.  You won’t find a more obvious way to promote your candidate’s name or prop number than a large attention-getting sign.

Promotional Balloons

Promotional balloons are another political mainstay as they’re decorative pieces for parties and events including campaign rallies.  If you want to promote a political event, promotional balloons are an absolute must.

Promotional Buttons

Campaign season is known for one thing: Buttons!  Promotional buttons might be the most recognized material used in any campaign. Wear your patriotism right on your sleeve (literally) and draw attention immediately.

Promotional Magnets

The kitchen is one of the best places to promote your cause; Studies show people spend more time in the kitchen than any other room hence why your target voter is more likely to remember you with a customized promotional magnets promoting a candidate or proposition.  Campaign reps often go door-to-door with marketing items including promotional magnets reminding people who to vote for and of course, when and where.

Honorary Mention:

Promotional Pens

Promotional Pens are the single most effective promotional item your campaign (as well as any business) can utilize. Promotional Pens provide every-day use, something we cannot take for granted since they are the most impressionable and recalled Promotional Item on the market

Promotional T-Shirts

Promotional T-Shirts are also a great way to show your patriotism and support around town.  Our customizable t-shirts are blank, ready for your logo and completely bi-partisan!

Promotional Tote Bags

Stay eco-friendly while promoting your campaign with one of our Promotional Tote Bags. Again, it is suggested that you give-away promotional products that provide the end-user something applicable in their daily lives.  When selecting a promotional product, it’s important to think of an item that people will use but don’t necessarily have time to shop for or wouldn’t think of shopping for creating some thoughtful and memorable.

US Department of Veterans Affairs Spends $84,000 on Promotional Products

Thursday, August 2nd, 2012

Since this blog’s inception, we enjoy covering odd news stories mentioning promotional items especially those where exorbitant amounts of money has been spent on promotional products.  In this article’s case, the US Department of Veterans Affairs spent $84K on promotional products alone as well as $52K on a parody video, based on the 1970 movie “Patton.” The US Department of Veterans Affairs is defined as “providing patient care and Federal benefits to veterans and their dependents.”

Apparently promotional pens were a big part of this promotional item splurge which is consistent with our blog and reported studies showing that promotional pens are the most powerful promotional product on the market.

The purpose of this blog post is not to debate where this money should have been allocated since it seems veterans and their families could have benefited far more from this $136K rather than it being spent on viral and brand marketing, however, we’re mainly pointing out just how valuable promotional products are and this case is no exception.  Government entities, mega-corporations, elected officials, non-profit organizations and so many other groups of people understand how much a promotional item can influence their company’s sales, their cause or their mission.

Whatever your need is, Superior Promos can design and print promotional items with your message clear and impressionable.  Call 1-888-577-6667 for any questions you have about our promotional products and to place your order.
